How is AI Search Visibility different from keyword rankings?

Keyword rankings tell you where a page sits in a list of links for a given query. AI Search Visibility tells you whether your brand is found, understood, trusted, mentioned, and cited in the answer an AI writes. They measure different things, and a page can do well on one and poorly on the other.

Why rank does not map to citation

AI answer engines do not expose a fixed rank. They read across sources, synthesize a response, and cite only a few.
